HOW DOES THE TOP WORK?
HOW TO USE THE NEW DECODER
INTERACTIVE ON-LINE SIMULATION OF THE TOP TELETEXT

As usual, a television station is selected, and the teletext mode is activated with the remote control. With this operation, the "Index page 100" is inserted in the teletext decoder with a summarizing table of the received cycle. In this page the single subject fields (blocks) of the teletext program selected and the corresponding page numbers are indicated, as currently used. Pressing the blue "blocks-key", the single subject fields can be directly selected in succession. Within a field, the single subjects are selected in succession with the yellow "groups-key ".

Let us suppose, for example, that a user wants to know the weather for the following days. On the "page - guide 100" all the blocks of the selected teletext service are listed, among which there is also the block "Services". Between the groups of this block there is also "next days".

Pressing for three times the blue "blocks key", this block is directly selected and the corresponding page is recalled and visualized. In the summarized page of the block "Services" the voice "Next Days" is brought back as the 7 th group. Pressing for six times the yellow "key - group" the user approaches the first page of the group "next days". With the "pages-key" all the pages of the group "Next Days" such as "tomorrow", "the day after tomorrow" etc. can now be selected and visualized, in succession.

Here is the structure of the navigation tree of the TOP service illustrated in the example:

This is the navigation bar that appears on the television screen when the relative page to regarding the weather in the "Next Days" is visualized:
